  • John is currently the Executive Editor of Better, Faster, Cheaper—Smart Ideas for Government, a website on public sector innovation

 

Ready to Lead
  • John is co-author of the 2009 book“If We Can Put a Man on the Moon: Getting Big Things Done in Government,” published by the Harvard Business Press. His research for the book was supported by the National Academy of Public Administration
  • John led three different state agencies under Governor Romney. He served as Commissioner of the Division of Unemployment Assistance, Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, and as Assistant Secretary for Administration and Finance in his capacity as the Commonwealth’s Chief Human Resource Officer
  •  In 2008, John wrote a white paper on reforming the Unemployment System in Massachusetts
  • In 2004, John won the Pioneer Institute’s “Better Government Competition” for his ideas on how to reform Civil Service
